The impact of TPACK education framework on learners in the AI  era

💓Abstract💓

In the era of artificial intelligence, education and AI technology are often closely linked. Deepseek, Notebook LM,Chat gpt are AI-driven knowledge processing tools that can support personalized learning, promote critical thinking and creativity, and improve teaching efficiency in the field of education. In this seemingly high-quality use of AI teaching results, there is also a potential problem that increased dependence leads to a decline in independent thinking ability and unequal distribution of educational resources. This blog will explore the role of NotebookLM in TPACK's educational framework.

😜TPACK framework core

As a theoretical framework of pedagogy, it integrates three parts: teachers' understanding of teaching knowledge, teaching method and application of educational technology (Koehler, M. J., & Mishra, P., 2009).

🔅This video link details the construction of the TPACK framework

👧Integrated podcast

The podcast emphasizes the need to establish social presence, cognitive presence, and pedagogical presence when learning online at approximately 5:30-6:30.

Social Presence - Online learners need to develop a sense of belonging so that learners recognize themselves as part of a community rather than as individuals.

Cognitive Presence - Learners are not just passive recipients of learning information, but deepen their understanding through interactive discussion and reflection.

Sense of Teaching and Learning - Learning needs to be learner-centered, with the teacher providing guidance and feedback.

According to Ms. Marshall (Wetzel, K., & Marshall, S. 2011), as a middle school teacher, she used the TPACK framework to teach. In this case, learners use role play to record interviews and display works through Flip video cameras to enhance the interaction between learners. At the same time, the use of WebQuest for research learning enables students to select valuable materials on their own instead of simply reading textbook content. And promotes learners' deep thinking and knowledge construction. Finally, the adoption of project-based learning (PBL), in which teachers are transformed from knowledge lecturers to facilitators, and students are encouraged to explore and personalized learning, will help learners to complete the course progress better. Her case demonstrates the effectiveness of TPACK as a teaching framework in enhancing student learning experiences and outcomes.

At about 10:00 minutes into the podcast, the systematic approach is mentioned, and the main purpose of this approach is to make learning meaningful and engaging. The integration of technologies in a systems approach is like a 'symphony', when all the technologies are integrated to create a richer learning environment, rather than using one technology in isolation. Just like the use of AI technology can be divided into multiple aspects (Harry,A.2023) .

🔑Personalised learning for students - providing a learning path that ADAPTS to them

🔑Drive chat - Answer students' questions

🔑Automatic Grading and Assessment - Help quickly measure student assignments and test scores to provide feedback

These all reflect the application of AI as a powerful assistive technology in the education community.

Why is it funny?😸
What interests me is that online communities, in contrast to traditional teaching, emphasize the organic integration of technical knowledge and pedagogy. Breaking the traditional teacher-centered teaching method, echoing the learner-centered, just as encouraging students to actively participate, explore and create, focusing on cultivating students' independent learning ability and inquiry ability. However, the exam-oriented education of this sector in China is lacking. After coming to the UK to study, I can also clearly feel the difference between Chinese teaching methods and British teaching methods. In the traditional Chinese teaching methods, teachers mainly give lectures, students always passively accept knowledge, and technology is only regarded as a simple auxiliary tool, which is limited to playing slides and videos. In the UK, classroom teachers regard technology as an important collaboration tool and encourage us to make reasonable use of ai, such as notebook lm, to help us find key information quickly and conveniently. This teaching method of integrating technology into education not only conforms to the trend of The Times, but also helps to improve the teaching effect.

Self use NotebookLM feedback☝☝☝

1. Use basic direct instructions to generate answers and provide new ideas.

2. Import text directly into NotebookLM helped me summarize the content of the articles I found and the key points of those articles, thereby reducing time and increasing efficiency

3. Generate multi-format data integration, such as PDF website links YouTube video system can automatically analyze and integrate

4. Convert text content into audio format to generate blog, which is convenient to me anytime and anywhere.

Overall, notebooklm and chatgpt are both powerful AI tools that can help people learn. Notebook is more inclined to organize notes, suitable for summarizing long-form documents, and can upload documents using AI to help users summarize materials, while ChatGPT cannot directly read the documents uploaded by users, unless the ChatGPT Pro version is used. At the same time, this kind of artificial intelligence also has a major drawback, providing false literature and constructing false data. Therefore, users also need to re-verify the authenticity and validity of the documents.

Statement

In this assignment, ChatGPT was used to generate images to help find literature and summarize the content of the article. And use Notebook to summarize podcast recording. I guarantee that all content has passed the review and is valid and true. And all works are original
